“The play was crafted tremendously by director Arianna Munoz...both being mysteriously idyllic and uncomfortably terrifying, this bewitching play has a lot to offer for modern feminist ideals.”

In my production of Caryl Churchill's play on witchcraft and female oppression, I chose to focus on the eerie mysticism of the play, taking inspiration from Robert Egger's The Witch as well as the 2016 Broadway revival of The Crucible (dir. Ivo van Hove).

There was a deliberate focus on contrasting the 'aesthetics' and beauty of the production design against the brutality and visceral nature of the text, creating an experience that at once enraptured and horrified the audience.
